Grow your empire, seize colonies across the world, and gain prestige through economic and scientific growth. Prestige points are weighed relative to each power. Each nation has its own goals; Japan is unlikely to control as much of the world as Britain. Victory points become paramount should world tensions rise to the point that a great war breaks out. This throws prestige out the window, and you must dedicate all of your resources to managing your armies and fleets.
- A crisis can break out in any country at anytime, giving players a reason to remain invested and continue the game after a setback instead of rage-quit and restart.
- Pride of Nations offers several Battle Scenarios. These feature historical flashpoints and, handy for those wanting to wage war in a hurry, only require 2 hours or less to play.
- AGEOD has split the in-game economic model into state funds versus private capital. Since businesses are private enterprises, they are not restricted to lands you own. Setting up a business is as simple as dragging and dropping the building on any area with the required resources.
- Multiplayer games can now be resolved online using the simultaneous turn-based engine, or you can stick with the traditional play-by-e-mail setup.
